Spectris plc: Transaction in own shares
Spectris plc announces that on 18 September 2007 it purchased 75,000 of its 5p
ordinary shares at a volume weighted average price paid per share 839.4p.
Spectris plc purchased these shares via Merrill Lynch International.
The highest price paid per share was 844.5p, and the lowest price paid was 835p.
Spectris plc has purchased, to date, 6,320,000 of its own shares since
announcing a share buy-back in its 23 February 2007 preliminary results
announcement. The shares purchased are held as treasury shares. Following the
above purchase, Spectris plc holds 5,916,845 shares in treasury. The balance of
the purchased shares has been used to satisfy share option exercises under
Spectris plc's share option schemes.
The total number of ordinary shares in issue (excluding treasury shares) is
119,088,278.
