BOARD APPOINTMENT

 

The Board of Directors of Spirax-Sarco Engineering plc ("the Company") is pleased to announce the appointment of Dr Trudy Schoolenberg as an independent non-executive director with effect from 1st August 2012.  She will join the Audit, Remuneration and Nomination Committees.  The addition of Dr Schoolenberg will strengthen the Board through her international and relevant operational expertise.

 

Dr Schoolenberg most recently served as Vice-president of Global Research & Development at Wartsila Oy, the world leader in land and marine power systems.  Prior to that, she worked 21 years for Royal Dutch Shell plc and held several senior management positions, including Deputy Site Manager and Production Manager of the Shell Pernis refinery in the Netherlands, the largest refinery in Europe, and also served as Head of Strategy for Shell Chemicals.  Dr Schoolenberg brings to the Board her wide international experience, having worked in a range of businesses and with an excellent understanding of a key constituent customer group of the Company.  She is currently a non-executive director of COVA, the agency responsible for maintaining the Dutch strategic oil and petrochemical reserves.
