Renewal of British Airways contract
The Board of Spice plc, the provider of Total Utility Support Services, is pleased to announce that it has renewed its contract with British Airways ("BA") for the three years to September 2011 with an option to extend thereafter for one year. The contract covers the provision of private mobile radio and other wireless technology support and services.
The new contract is similar in scope of services provided to the previous contract, which had evolved over the past five years in line with developments in mobile technology and BA's changing operational requirements. The contract renewal process was used by Spice and BA as an opportunity to carry out a full review of the services delivered and terms of the contract and, as a consequence of this review, deferred consideration payable to BA is now no longer due.
Simon Rigby, Chief Executive Officer, commented:
"The renewal of this contract underlines the strength of our ongoing relationship with BA. Following the acquisition of the AirRadio business in 2003, the successful delivery world-wide of an evolving set of services and support over the past five years has demonstrated our commitment to flexibility, operational efficiency and service excellence."
Philip Hawker, Manager Communications Networks of BA, commented:
"We are very pleased to renew our contract with AirRadio following what has been a comprehensive review to ensure that the services provided are in line with our changing operational requirements in a challenging environment. We have been delighted with the standard of services delivered by AirRadio over the past five years, including the support for our move to T5, and look forward to continue working together in the future."

NOTES TO EDITORS
Spice plc
Spice is a total utility infrastructure support services business. The Group's operations were founded in 1996 and have their origins in the electricity industry, though the range of activities has since been expanded into the water sector, niche telecommunications services, statutory gas inspections, energy management and facilities management. Spice's businesses have a common theme of delivering and co-ordinating infrastructure services to customers, and the technological element within the product mix has been built up significantly over the course of the last three years.
