The Board of Directors of Sportech PLC ('the Company') announce that Managing
Director, George Rushton, has resigned as a Director of the Company with
immediate effect to pursue other interests.

Roger Withers, 62, a senior Non-Executive Director of the Company since
September 2000, is appointed Executive Director with overall responsibility. Mr
Withers will retain this position until a permanent successor to Mr Rushton is
appointed.

Mr Withers is a highly regarded Executive with extensive experience in the
leisure and gaming sectors. He has a long association with the UK gaming sector,
including 13 years with Ladbrokes at senior level, a similar period with Bass
Leisure as Managing Director of Coral, Chairman of Tote Direct and Chairman of
Bass Leisure, South Africa. In February 1999, Mr Withers was appointed Executive
Chairman of Littlewoods Leisure and led the sale of the business to Sportech. Mr
Withers is currently non-executive Chairman of Arena Leisure Plc and holds a
number of Non-Executive Directorships in the leisure, exhibition and technology
industries.
