STANDARD CHARTERED BOARD APPOINTMENT
Standard Chartered PLC announces the appointment to the Board of Rudy Markham
as a Non Executive Director, with immediate effect.
Rudy Markham is Finance Director of Unilever. He joined that company in 1968.
From 1989 to 1998 he was based in East Asia, latterly as Business Group
President North East Asia based in Singapore. He joined the Board of Unilever
as Strategy and Technology Director and a member of the Executive Committee in
May 1998 and was appointed Finance Director in August 2000.
Rudy Markham studied at Christ's College, Cambridge, where he gained a Masters
Degree in Natural Sciences. He is a Fellow of the Chartered Institute of
Management Accountants and of the Association of Corporate Treasurers.
