SAVE GROUP PLC
Chairman's AGM Statement
'At the conclusion of each AGM I usually give a fairly wide
ranging up date of the industry position, and of the Group's
position, during the year to date.
This year, I will confine myself to drawing members' attention
to the comments in my Statement accompanying the annual
report, particularly regarding the momentous changes
(including mergers, takeovers and securitisations) that have
taken place in 1999 and their ongoing impact in 2000.
So far as trading is concerned, however, I can report that
despite huge increases in the input price of petrol this year
so far, and with it pump prices which have impacted on sales
nationally; sales, profits and cash flow to date, for Save,
are still all ahead of the same period for last year, although
it is too early to predict the outcome for the year as a
whole.'
