Symphony Plastic Technologies PLC
03 March 2004
For Immediate Release 3rd March 2004
SYMPHONY PLASTIC TECHNOLOGIES PLC
TRADING STATEMENT
Symphony Plastic Technologies plc ('Symphony' or 'the Company') will be
announcing its preliminary results for the year ended 31 December 2003 on 25th
March 2004. Sales for the year were £7.6 million.
As announced on 14 July 2003, Symphony terminated its license agreement with EPI
Environmental Products Inc (EPI or the Claimant). Symphony has subsequently
received a claim from EPI on 25th February 2004 that the Symphony Companies have
breached a number of agreements concerning the Claimants' degradable
additives, which it is claimed constitute breach of contract, passing off and
misuse of confidential information. Following advice from its legal advisers,
and in relation to the terms stipulated in the termination of the EPI license
last year, the Board of Symphony believes the claim to be wholly unmeritorious.
Accordingly, it is the intention of the Board of Symphony vigorously to defend
the claim.
