                               NEW CONTRACT WIN


The Board of DAT Group plc ('DAT') notes the recent press speculation concerning
the status of two contract negotiations and can confirm today that it has signed
a contract with a global manufacturer of mobile phone handsets. This contract is
for the provision of professional services during the final months of 2004
(approximately $150,000) and subsequent license fee payments, for the use of
DAT's proprietary software solution, on the relevant devices manufactured
through to 31 December 2007. It has been further agreed that there is to be a
$100,000 advance payment for these license fees.


The Board of DAT further confirms that it is in advanced negotiations with a
number of other parties, all or none of which may lead to a contract being
signed in the future. Should any such material agreements be concluded, they
will be announced as appropriate.
