T-Mobile markets Synchronica's Mobile Manager
London, 28 July 2006 - Synchronica plc has signed a partnership agreement with
T-Mobile UK, which will see T-Mobile's business consultants promoting
Synchronica's device management solution Mobile Manager to T-Mobile's customers
base. Mobile Manager addresses the growing need for mobile device management,
providing businesses with an easy to use self-care solution for over-the-air
(OTA) configuration and management of Smartphones.
The agreement comes into effect immediately and covers all sales made by
Synchronica to customers introduced by T-Mobile business consultants. T-Mobile
currently has six Windows Mobile devices in its portfolio.
The market for Windows Mobile devices is growing fast; a 2005 report from Centre
Development Cooperation forecasts that Smartphone penetration as a percentage of
all mobile devices will rise from 3.1% in 2005 to 28.5% by 2009.
T-Mobile UK evaluated a number of mobile device management applications before
choosing to endorse Mobile Manager. Steve Tait, T-Mobile UK's Business Solution
Manager said: "We chose to partner with Synchronica because we felt that Mobile
Manager offered the only mobile device management solution tailor-made for
enterprises deploying Smartphones and Pocket PCs. The software is extremely
flexible and scalable, and we were particularly impressed with the intuitive
user interface, which makes initial configuration easy."
Mobile Manager is a web-based tool that allows IT departments to set up Windows
Mobile e-mail across hundreds of devices without manually configuring each one.
The software also allows administrators to apply a range of pre-set
configurations to different groups of users and distribute applications and data
files to a group of devices or individual users. It also addresses security
concerns associated with data-loaded Smartphones by enabling administrators to
wipe and lock lost or stolen devices.
Carsten Brinkschulte, CEO at Synchronica plc, commented on the agreement: "We
are pleased to be working with T-Mobile UK to offer their customers a
sophisticated lifecycle management application for managing their fleets of
Smartphones. We see more and more companies who want to manage their mobile
devices in-house, but want assurances that the application they choose will make
provisioning easy, keep support costs to a minimum and overcome security
concerns associated with lost or stolen phones. Mobile Manager ticks all these
boxes."
