Lithuanian mobile operator signs with Synchronica

 Second Purchase Order under Group-Wide Framework Agreement

Synchronica plc (AIM: SYNC), the mobile email and synchronisation specialist, is pleased to  announce that pursuant to its Group-Wide Framework Agreement with a Tier 1 mobile operator, it has now received a second purchase order from a subsidiary of the group in Lithuania. 

Synchronica will receive, as agreed in the framework agreement, a one-time activation fee of €1 per user, plus an annual subscription fee of up to €2.64 per user plus a support fee of €0.96 per user. In addition the operator has purchased professional services for customisation and integration of its Mobile Gateway product.

The order represents a further example of Synchronica's ability to capitalise on the large market opportunity in Eastern Europe. Informa suggest that as global mobile subscription penetration continues to outstrip the number of unique users, Eastern Europe will lead the way with a 'subscription to subscriber' ratio of 1.75 by 2013 compared with the global figure of 1.32. 

This increase in multi-SIM ownership across the world and in Eastern Europe in particular, when combined with the low penetration levels of personal computers in these regions, highlights the significant market opportunity that exists for Synchronica, with the mobile phone becoming the primary device for sending and receiving emails in these regions.
