SyncML Gateway wins "The Best of CeBIT Award 2006"
Synchronization and Email-Push features for SyncML-compatible mobile phones
CeBIT, 20 March 2006 - Synchronica plc has won the "Best of CeBIT Award 2006" in
the category of mobile solutions, for its latest product SyncML Gateway 2.1. The
jury from the European telecoms magazine TeleTalk, which presents the award each
year, selected the innovative standard solution for synchronizing emails,
contacts, appointments and tasks between Microsoft Exchange or Sun JES Server
with SyncML-compatible phones as the best mobile solution for mobile data
synchronisation.
At the CeBIT fair in Hannover, the magazine TeleTalk annually awards exhibitors
whose products best meet the criteria of "innovation and market potential".
Synchronica joins Siemens, SAP and T-Com as one of the great winners of the day.
"Synchronica's SyncML Gateway convinced the jury with its broad field of
application. The email push functionality for employees on the road - from Board
members to the sales force - is its most desired feature. Unlike other
solutions, the SyncML Gateway synchronizes with both Microsoft Exchange Server
and Sun Java Enterprise System (JES). As well as this, all mobile devices
compliant with the industry standard SyncML (OMA DS) can be integrated. This
encompasses a wide range of devices that is only set to increase in the future.
What also speaks well for Synchronica is the easy configuration of the system,
as well as the fact that the solution can be applied by both the service
provider and the enterprise." Explained, Arne Gravemeyer, chief editor of
TeleTalk.
"With our Zero-Footprint-technology we need neither additional client software
on the mobile phone, nor a Virtual Private Network, nor adaptors behind the
corporate firewall. SyncML Gateway uses the existing security systems of the
internal IT function. Therefore the network remains protected, but is still
accessible from the outside - and that with currently more than 250 different
mobile phones from leading manufacturers." Commented Carsten Brinkschulte, CEO
of Synchronica.
