                                 Trading Update



The Directors are pleased to announce that Tanfield's aerial work platform
division, UpRight Powered Access, has secured its largest fleet order to date.


UpRight will supply more than 160 machines with a value of over 3.5 million
euros to one principal client in Europe.


Darren Kell, Chief Executive of The Tanfield Group Plc, said: 'We secured this
order after holding a global sales conference for over 100 of our biggest
clients, at the company's new UK production facility.


'The conference marked a key step in our ongoing strategy to develop UpRight as
a global brand.


'This order, our largest from a single client since we acquired the UpRight
business in June 2006, is a further endorsement of our strategy and demonstrates
the continued growing worldwide appetite for UpRight products in a multi-billion
pound marketplace.'
