                            Appointment of a director

The board of Telecom plus plc is pleased to announce the appointment of Stephen
David John Davis as Finance Director with effect from 11 April 2005. Richard
Michell will retire as Finance Director on the same date and as a full-time
Executive Director of the Company at the end of August, following which he will
remain on the Board as a Non-Executive Director.

Stephen has worked for BDO Stoy Hayward, the UK's 6th largest accounting and
business advisory practice, for over 20 years. Having joined from university in
1983, Stephen became a partner in 1991. He has advised clients across various
business sectors, both privately owned and quoted, and since 1995 has been
significantly involved in leading the firm, initially as head of a strategic
business unit and from 2000, on the main Board, with direct responsibility for
the London office. Latterly, Stephen has been instrumental in setting up an
innovative telecoms joint venture, and been a non-executive director of BDO's
investment management subsidiary.

There are no other matters which are required to be announced as required under
paragraph 16.4 of the Listing Rules
