       Transaction In Own Shares - Total Voting Rights and Share Capital


The Company is pleased to announce that it has today purchased 100,000 ordinary
shares at a price of 177.95 pence per share.


The purchased shares will all be held as treasury shares.


The total number of ordinary shares of 5p of Telecom plus PLC in issue as at the
date of this notice is 69,031,863.


There are 2,213,341 shares held in treasury.


The total number of voting rights in Telecom plus PLC is therefore 66,818,522.


The above figure may be used by shareholders as the denominator for the
calculations by which they will determine if they are required to notify their
interest in, or a change to their interest in, Telecom plus PLC, under the
Financial Services Authority's Disclosure and Transparency Rules.
