Templeton Emerging Markets Investment Trust PLC Announcement

Templeton Emerging Markets Investment Trust PLC announces that at its Annual General Meeting held on Thursday 25th September 2008, all of the resolutions set out in the Notice of the Meeting were passed by the requisite majority.

Copies of the proposed new Articles of Association of the Company were submitted to the UK Listing Authority ("UKLA") on 10 July 2008 pursuant to Listing Rule 9.6.1 and DTR 6.1.2.

Copies of the resolutions passed as special resolutions at the Meeting, together with the newly adopted Articles of Association will be submitted to the UKLA shortly and will be available for inspection at the UKLA's Document Viewing Facility, which is situated at:
