              Appointment of Directors in research department

The Company is pleased to announce the appointment with immediate effect, of
three new directors to Teather & Greenwood Limited, the Company's principal
operating subsidiary.  These appointments strengthen the senior management team
and coincide with recruitment in the research, market making, dealing and
corporate finance departments.

David Stoddart has been a retail analyst for 17 years, working previously for
Investec Henderson Crosthwaite, Societe Generale Strauss Turnbull and ANZ
McCaughan. He has also worked in industry, including time with British Home
Stores and British Steel Corporation.

Howard Miller has been Pharmaceutical and Biotechnology Analyst at Teather &
Greenwood since May 2000. He joined from Datamonitor Healthcare where he worked
for two and a half years as a Pharmaceutical Business Consultant. He has also
worked for the Medical Research Council as part of a DPhil in Genomics at Oxford
University and has a first class Honours degree in Genetics from Manchester
University. He has a particular interest in the field of genomics and related
disciplines.

Adam Lawson joined Teather & Greenwood in 1999 as Software & Computer Services
analyst.  While he continues to research the technology sector, he now also has
joint responsibility for Small & Mid Cap research at Teather & Greenwood.  He
was previously a buy-side analyst at Prudential-Bache where he covered a broad
spectrum of global technology stocks.

Commenting on their appointment, Ken Ford, Chief Executive, said:
