WASTE CONTRACT SECURED WITH SCHWAN
Waste secured for Sherdley Farm Plant, Partnership Established
with Global Food Business
TEG Environmental Plc ('TEG' or 'the Company'), the cutting edge green
technology company, which converts organic wastes into natural organic
fertiliser, is pleased to announce that it has secured a 3 year contract for the
composting of pizza waste from the Schwan Consumer Brands UK Ltd's ('Schwan')
pizza production plant in Leyland, Lancashire.
Schwan, whose UK brand is Chicago Town pizzas, is part of the global food
processing business, the Schwan Food Company, which has 18 plants in the USA and
interests across Europe. It has supported TEG throughout its Animal By-Products
accreditation process. The 3 year contract is for the composting of all the
waste that is classified as Category III Animal By-Products and is worth
approximately £150,000.
Commenting, Mick Fishwick, Chief Executive of TEG Environmental, said:
'Concluding a long term agreement with a company of the size and quality of
Schwan is an important step forward for TEG. Not only is this a blue chip
customer for our plant at Sherdley Farm but it opens up the door for further
possible developments with a global business. Schwan has been very supportive of
TEG and we look forward to developing our relationship with them over the coming
years.'
The contract with Schwan comes on the back of a further contract secured for the
supply of green waste to the Sherdley Farm plant. Green waste is an important
material used to blend with food waste to ensure ideal composting conditions
within the TEG Silo Cages.

Editor's Notes:
TEG provides an in-vessel composting technology, which is one of the few
approved technologies capable of treating animal by-product waste. Plant
economics are driven by the gate fees charged, rather than the value of the end
product (compost). The TEG process is an economic alternative to landfill.
The Silo Cage system, one of the few technologies in Europe capable of treating
this waste, is a natural process producing compost as an end product, used as an
excellent soil conditioner that fertilizes, retains moisture, provides structure
and reduces the incidence of plant disease. TEG's Silo-Cages will be housed in a
self-contained building, are not unsightly and are environmentally friendly.
Potential customers include local authorities, waste management companies, food
processors, farmers and landowners. The Company's expanding market is driven by
increasingly stringent EU and UK legislation regulating the treatment and
disposal of organic waste.
