Re: Perth AD Plant
Update on Plant Commissioning
The TEG Group Plc (AIM: TEG) is pleased to announce that the commissioning of its anaerobic digestion ("AD") plant at Glenfarg, Perthshire, is proceeding well and the plant has commenced the generation of electricity. The grid connection test was satisfactorily completed and the plant has produced its first renewable power, which will be used to power the adjacent TEG composting plant with surplus power being sold onto the grid.
The plant has been constructed for TEG Biogas (Perth) Limited, a 50:50 joint venture with Albion Ventures LLP. Once commissioning is completed, the facility will process 16,000 tonnes per annum of food waste, generate up to 0.7MW of power and produce 0.2MW of heat which will be sold to the Binn Eco Park.
Commenting for TEG, Chief Executive Mick Fishwick said: "We are delighted to have achieved this milestone and to be generating renewable power for the first time. This facility demonstrates TEG's capability to develop successful AD facilities alongside our established composting business."
