                 Statement Re: Ghurayyah Project, Saudi Arabia

Tertiary Minerals plc announces that it has today requested a temporary
suspension from trading pending clarification of issues relating to its
applications for renewal of its exploration licence and for a Mining lease over
the Ghurayyah project with the Deputy Ministry for Mineral Resources in Saudi
Arabia (the administrative authority overseeing mineral licences in Saudi
Arabia).
