Tesco PLC announces that a one week Investor Relations trip to Asia commenced
on Sunday 5th November. On this trip a number of shareholders and research
analysts will have the opportunity to visit Tesco and competitor stores in the
region.

The company will show why it remains confident of achieving the targets set
out for these businesses in September 1999.
