Change to date of FY23 preliminary results announcement

The Works, the family-friendly value retailer of arts and crafts, stationery, toys and books, today issues an update regarding the timing of the publication of its preliminary results for the 52 weeks ended 30 April 2023 (FY23). The Group's auditor, KPMG LLP, has requested additional time to complete its standard audit procedures. Consequently, the Group will now announce its results on Wednesday 2 August 2023, delayed from the previously announced date of Friday 21 July 2023.

The Group expects to report a pre IFRS 16 Adjusted EBITDA of £9.0 million, in line with the expected outturn that was included in the Company's May 2023 trading update.

The Board is assured by KPMG LLP that the delay is caused by a requirement for additional time to allow the completion of standard audit processes including internal review and documentation.
