                                Grant of options


The Company announces that it has been notified by The Inland Revenue that as a
result of an administrative error, the 3,655,000 options granted to date under
the company's EMI option scheme, are invalid. As a result, all employees and
directors have waived their respective rights to the invalid options, and
identical numbers of options have now been granted accordingly.

The following options were granted to directors of the Company on 20th December,
2002:
