The Board of Tottenham Hotspur plc announces the appointment of Mervyn Davies
CBE as Non-executive Director with immediate effect. Mervyn Davies, age 51, is
Group Chief Executive of Standard Chartered PLC and a Non-Executive Director of
Tesco PLC. Mr Davies is a banker with extensive experience in London and in
Asia, especially Hong Kong and China.
Commenting, Daniel Levy, Chairman of Tottenham Hotspur plc, said:
'Mervyn's appointment brings to our Board international business expertise of
the very highest calibre. His counsel will be much valued as we continue to
engage with the challenges ahead for the Club.'

Mervyn Davies CBE was appointed to the Board of Standard Chartered PLC in
December 1997 and became Group Chief Executive in November 2001. He joined
Standard Chartered in 1993 with responsibility for global account management and
prior to joining its board he was based in Singapore in charge of corporate and
investment banking business. Before his appointment as Group Chief Executive he
was an Executive Director with responsibility for Hong Kong, China and North
East Asia and for group-wide technology and operations.
