easyJet announces three new routes from
Belfast International Airport
TBI plc today warmly welcomed the largest single phase of expansion from Belfast
International Airport so far by easyJet, with the launch of new direct scheduled
services to four key European destinations in France and Spain, plus an
additional daily London Gatwick service.
From 25 June 2004 easyJet will fly nonstop from Belfast International Airport to
Paris (Charles De Gaulle) and Nice, as well as to Malaga and Alicante in the
popular Spanish property regions on the Costa del Sol and Costa Blanca.
This brings the total number of easyJet destinations served from Belfast
International Airport to 13.
Keith Brooks, Chief Executive of TBI plc said:
'These four new direct services are a welcome addition to our existing European
scheduled services from Belfast International Airport, which include Amsterdam,
and most recently Prague and Brussels.
We have worked closely with both Air Route Development (NI) Ltd and easyJet, to
make these developments a reality. We plan to continue our co-operation with ARD
(NI) in the forthcoming months in order to create direct access to other key
markets in Europe and North America for the Northern Ireland air traveller. To
this end our ongoing investment in facilities will continue apace, in order to
ensure that the local community reap the true benefit of Belfast International's
position as an unconstrained, 24/7 airport.
We look forward to announcing further major developments in the near future.'
