Major  iTrack Contract with Kumba Iron Ore (a subsidiary of Anglo American)

Transense Technologies plc ("Transense" or the "Company") (AIM: TRT), the provider of sensor systems for the transportation and industrial markets, is pleased to announce its trading division, Translogik, has signed a contract with Kumba Iron Ore ("Kumba"), a subsidiary of Anglo American ("Anglo") in South Africa, for the provison of further iTrack mining vehicle tyre monitoring systems to its Sishen mine over the next twelve months. The contract, which is in South African Rand, is for a total sale value of approximately £1m. In addition, after the first year, the supply of services and consumables is expected to yield ongoing sales of approximately £500k pa. In order to facilitate the growing scale of the Kumba deployment, Translogik has been working with Anglo's electrical service contractor, Trysome, who supply certified technicians providing on-site installation and repair services to the mining industry.

Graham Storey, CEO of Transense, commented, "We are delighted that after extensive testing and trials of the Translogik iTrack system we have secured this high-profile contract. To our knowledge this is the largest single deployment of tyre monitoring systems to the mining industry anywhere in the world. Anglo is committed to achieving a 'zero harm' work environment for all its employees.

"It has been a lengthy process to reach this point, but with the iTrack system having now received  a major validation from Anglo and significant drivers for adoption within the mining industy through the requirements to improve safety and maximise vehicle productivity, we are now looking forward to replicating this commercial success at other sites where iTrack field trials are currently underway."
