Appointment of Non-Executive Director

The Board of Travis Perkins plc ("the company") is pleased to announce the appointment of Ruth Anderson as a non-executive director on 24 October 2011. Ms Anderson is a Chartered Accountant and held a number of positions with KPMG (UK) from 1976 to 2009, being a member of its Board from 1998 to 2004 and Vice Chair from 2005 to 2009. She is also a non-executive director and chair of the audit committee of Ocado plc. On appointment, she will join the company's audit committee.

Robert Walker, Chairman of Travis Perkins, commented:-

"We are delighted to welcome Ruth Anderson to our board as a director. Her extensive experience of advising a broad range of companies across many business sectors will be of great value to the board, and with her financial background, she will be an important addition to our audit committee."

Ms Anderson does not hold any shares in the company.

There is no information in relation to Ms Anderson's appointment to be disclosed under Listing Rule 9.6.13.
