In common with all eligible employees, each of the executive directors of Travis
Perkins plc ('the Company') were invited on 25 September 2003 to participate in
the Company's share-save scheme and were given an option to buy shares in the
Company in 3 or 5 years time at an option price of 1079p


John Peter Carter, a director of the Company, elected to apply to join the
scheme and on 20 October 2003 was granted an option over 854 shares, which will
normally be exercisable between December 2006 and May 2007.
