Antimony & gold anomaly extends Goynuk exploration target

Tri-Star Resources (AIM: TSTR) is pleased to announce that the Company has now received the assay results from its recent regional rock sampling associated with the systematic geological mapping of the Company's 783 hectare prospecting area, which surrounds the Company's mine site in the Goynuk area of Kütahya, Turkey (the "Goynuk Mine").  The mapping and sampling was carried out by Allan Juhas, the Company's independent geological consultant, with assistance from Company personnel.

The assays indicate anomalous gold and antimony values in identical rock formations to those observed at the Goynuk Mine, namely dolomitised limestone, iron rich sediments and graphitic shales.  The formations are similarly altered by epithermal fluids and deformed by complex faulting as seen at the Goynuk Mine.

The occurrences are approximately 1.2 km south of the currently known mineralisation confirmed in our recent scout drilling operations at the Goynuk Mine and are within the Company's exploration licence area.  These findings are broadly in line with the North to South trending fault that bisects the mine deposit, which is currently assumed to provide the 'pathway' for the mineralising fluids that altered the limestone to dolomite and later deposited the silica and stibnite (antimony sulphide) of the Goynuk Mine.

The assays, taken in a road cut, were not economically viable but were highly anomalous and ranged from a low background of 3ppm to 1390ppm or 0.14% Antimony, the gold values ranged from 0.095ppm to 0.245g/t.

These values and the geological environment confirm the Company's view of the general model for the ore body genesis and form an important target for exploration in an area stretching away from the Goynuk Mine site for some considerable distance. Further exploration work will now be conducted on this site and along the fault structure, and further updates will be made in due course.
