Contract Award
Triad is delighted to announce it has been awarded a contract to develop and
provide ongoing support for an information management system for the Transport
Security & Contingencies Directorate (TRANSEC) of the Department for Transport.
TRANSEC is responsible for protecting the travelling public, transport
facilities and those employed in the transport industries, primarily from acts
of terrorism, and for retaining public confidence in transport security. The
contract was awarded following competitive tender under the S-CAT framework
operated by the Office of Government Commerce.
The system will make it easier for TRANSEC to adopt a common approach to its
activities across all modes of transport. Benefits include improvements in the
way in which information is captured and analysed and increased efficiencies and
flexibility in the way in which inspection effort is targeted.
The total duration of the contract is 3 years with the first two phases being
delivered in January and March 2006 by a team of 8 Triad staff. The system is
being developed using Microsoft's .NET framework and SQL Server database.
The financial impact of this contract on the Company's results will be reflected
in the results for the second half of the current financial year.
Dr John Rigg, Executive Chairman of Triad, commented,
'I am delighted with this excellent contract win. It is testament to the efforts
of our senior management and staff. It is an early indication of the
effectiveness of our current team and I look forward to the second half of our
financial year.'
