AGM STATEMENT
Speaking at the company's Annual General Meeting held today, John
Newman, Executive Chairman of TT electronics plc commented:
"Trading continues to be in line with my remarks in the Annual Report a
few weeks ago.
"Our automotive division, which represented over half of our electronics
sales last year, is performing well and we expect that to continue for
the foreseeable future.
"As stated in the Annual Report we have confidence in the long term
future of the telecom market. We have addressed the current market
conditions, reducing our cost base to minimise the effect on TT
electronics, while maintaining our leading edge skills base and market
position. As a result, we remain confident in our ability to maximise
the benefits of the upturn whenever it comes.
"In view of our strong cash position and in order to continue the
development of the business, we are looking at a number of possible
acquisitions. However, it is too early to discuss any individually
although we hope to be in a position to report progress in due course."
All resolutions before the meeting were duly passed.
