                               BOARD APPOINTMENT


TT electronics plc is pleased to announce the appointment of John Shakeshaft as
an independent non-executive director.

John Shakeshaft will bring his knowledge and experience of the City, having been
with ING Barings and Lazard LLC, to the benefit of TT electronics plc. He is
currently a non-executive director of Questair, Inc and Tele2 AB. John 
Shakeshaft will serve on the TT electronics plc Audit Committee as well as the 
Remuneration, Nominations and Corporate Governance Committees.

TT electronics plc confirms that there is no other information to be disclosed
under the requirements of Listing Rule 9.6.13 in relation to this appointment.

Sir Laurie Magnus, after serving six years as an independent non-executive
director of TT electronics plc, retires today. The Board would like to thank 
Sir Laurie for the valuable contribution he has made to TT electronics plc.
