Volume orders for AutoSeis seismic node

Sarantel Group PLC, (AIM: SLG, 'Sarantel'), a leading manufacturer of high-performance, miniature filtering antennas for mobile and wireless devices, announces that volume production orders for its GeoHelix GPS antenna used in an unnamed seismic probe announced on 16 May 2011 were for the AutoSeis™ HDR1C, a high-definition recording, autonomous seismic node.

The AutoSeis HDR1C is provided by AutoSeis Inc., a Global Geophysical Services (NYS-GGS) company. The HDR1C seismic node promises to revolutionize the natural resource exploration process.

The HDR1C node uses Sarantel's GeoHelix GPS antenna as part of a precision timing and location system which enables the probe to gather highly accurate geological survey data. These autonomous nodes can be deployed in large numbers, over a large geographic area and replace expensive and time-consuming wired survey systems. Sarantel said on 16 May 2011 that it believes the deal will have a material impact on revenues over the next 12 months.

Sarantel's GeoHelix GPS filtering antenna was selected for this application because it offers an omni-directional gain pattern which provides the customer stable and reliable GPS performance across a wide range of installation environments.

Ralph Muse, CEO of AutoSeis Inc., said:

"Sarantel's GeoHelix GPS antenna has helped us to develop our unique product with advanced continuous recording through the use of the highly accurate state of the art GPS solution. The support provided by Sarantel to ensure the best design available was invaluable in ensuring the HDR1C is the smallest, lightest seismic node available."

David Wither, CEO of Sarantel, said:

"Selection of our technology by AutoSeis underscores the progress we are making in delivering leading edge solutions. GPS is used as a precision timing source for a broad range of applications and the HDR1C autonomous seismic node is a great example of how our technology is enabling the development of a raft of game changing devices."
