Sarantel Group PLC
Successful completion of field trials with Japanese camera manufacturer
Sarantel Group PLC (AIM: SLG, 'Sarantel' or 'the Group'), a leading manufacturer of high-performance, miniature filtering antennas for mobile and wireless devices, has successfully completed field trials for a major Japanese camera manufacturer in Tokyo.
GPS antennas installed in cameras allow the recording of the geographical location of a photograph. The small size and high performance of Sarantel's GeoHelix GPS technology make it particularly well suited to this application and reduce the cost of manufacture, compared to the lower performance alternatives.
David Wither, Chief Executive of Sarantel, said:
"We have successfully demonstrated that our technology can accomplish what many people thought was impossible - reliable standalone GPS performance in extreme urban conditions.
"We are confident that our technology will enable higher performing consumer products, which are more attractively styled while offering a lower total system cost."

About Sarantel
Sarantel is a leader in the design of high-performance miniature antennas for portable wireless applications. Sarantel's revolutionary ceramic filtering antennas offer dramatically improved performance over existing antenna designs, resulting in a clearer signal, better range and a 90per cent reduction in the amount of signal radiation absorbed by the body. Because of their smaller size and higher capabilities, Sarantel's antennas enable manufacturers to create innovative wireless products for the GPS, WiMax, Satellite Radio and Satellite phone markets.
