Electra Investment Trust PLC announces that the Special Resolution, authorising
the Company to purchase its own shares for the purposes of the Company's Tender
Offer, was approved by shareholders at the Company's Extraordinary General
Meeting held today.

Two copies of the Special Resolution, passed at today's Extraordinary General
Meeting, have been submitted to the UK Listing Authority, and will shortly be
available for inspection at the UK Listing Authority's Document Viewing
