In accordance with Listing Rule 15.9, Electra announces that on 10 December 2003 
it purchased for cancellation 10,000 Ordinary Shares of 25p each at a price of 
630p per Ordinary Share.

Following this transaction Electra has 65,221,533 Ordinary Shares of 25p in 
issue.
