Appointment of Director

The Board of Utilico Emerging Markets Trust plc (the "Company") is pleased to announce the appointment of Mr Mark Bridgeman as an independent non-executive director with effect from 22 September 2021.  This appointment follows a search and selection process managed by an external independent recruitment consultancy.

Mr Bridgeman is currently a non-executive director of Law Debenture Corporation plc, where he is also Chair of the Audit and Risk Committee.  His background is in fund management spending 19 years with Schroders plc as an analyst and then fund manager, rising to become Global Head of Research. Previous roles at Schroders included Head of Pan European Research, Head of Global Sector Research and Emerging Markets Fund Manager. He left Schroders in 2009 to manage a rural estate and farming business in Northumberland and is currently President of the Country Land & Business Association.  Mr Bridgeman was also previously a non-executive director of JP Morgan Brazil Investment Trust plc and Blackrock Emerging Europe plc.

As at the date of this announcement Mr Bridgeman has no interests in the shares of the Company.
