In conformity with the Transparency Directive The Vitec Group plc ('Vitec') is required to announce to the market the receipt of notifications of major interests in shares.

Vitec received notice on 18 February 2009 on behalf of the Prudential plc group of companies in accordance with the Disclosure and Transparency Rules that the Prudential plc group of companies have a notifiable interest in 4,074,743 ordinary shares of 20p each in Vitec, being 9.61% of the issued ordinary shares capital of Vitec.
