Director Resignation
The Board of Directors ("the Board") of VinaCapital Vietnam Opportunity Fund Limited ("the Company"), an investment company focused on Vietnam, announces that Mr. Horst Geicke has resigned as a Non-executive Director of the Company with immediate effect.
Mr. Geicke has been a Director of the Company since its inception in 2003, and resigns now to reduce the investment manager's representation on the Board from two to one. Mr. Geicke was a founding member of VinaCapital Group, the Company's investment manager, and he remains in this role.
Commenting on the resignation of Mr. Geicke, the Company's Chairman Mr. William Vanderfelt said "We appreciate Horst's decision to resign from the Board as a commitment to strengthen the Board's independence from the investment manager. The Board and the investment manager would like to express their sincere gratitude to Horst for his many contributions to the Company during his tenure, which reaches back to the initial AIM admission of the Company with gross assets of USD9.5 million in 2003. On behalf of the Board, I wish Horst all the best with his future endeavours."
