Purchase of Shares by Volex Group Employees' Share Trust (the "Trust")

Volex plc (the "Company") has been advised that from 8 August 2011 through 31 September 2011 the Trust acquired 769,800 Volex ordinary shares of 25 pence each ("Shares") at an average price of £2.58 per Share.  The Trust now holds 5,389,177 Shares, representing approximately 8.6 per cent of the Company's issued share capital. The purchases were funded by two loans in the aggregate amount of £2 million from the Company to the independent trustee to the Trust, LTS Trustees SARL.

These shares will be held by the Trust in order to enable or facilitate participation by employees and directors in share option schemes of the Company.
