The Weir Group PLC issued its Notice of Annual General Meeting at 4.00pm (UK)
today, 4 April 2008.

The Company's Annual General Meeting will be held at 11am on Wednesday 7 May
2008 at the Burrell Collection, Pollok Park, Glasgow.

Copies of the Circular to shareholders incorporating the Notice of Annual
General Meeting, together with the 2007 Annual Report and financial statements
have been submitted to the UK Listing Authority, and will shortly be available
for inspection at the UK Listing Authority's Document Viewing Facility which is

The Notice of the 2008 Annual General Meeting includes a resolution to amend 
the articles of association. The full text of the proposed amendments has been
