Result of EGM
On 21 June 2007 the Board of The Weir Group announced the proposed acquisition
of SPM Flow Control, Inc. ('SPM') conditional on Weir Group shareholder approval
and the fact that all filings have been made under the United States
Hart-Scott-Rodino Anti-trust Improvements Act of 1976, as amended.
The Board of Weir Group announces that, at the Extraordinary General Meeting
held earlier today, the Resolution to approve the acquisition of SPM, details of
which were set out in the notice of Extraordinary General Meeting included in
the circular to Weir Group's shareholders dated 26 June 2007, was duly passed.
The Resolution was passed on a poll as follows:

The filings required under the United States Hart-Scott-Rodino Anti-trust
Improvements Act of 1976 are expected to be received shortly.
A signed copy of the Resolution has been submitted to the UK Listing Authority
and will be shortly available for inspection at the UKLA Document Viewing
Facility situated at Financial Services Authority, 25 North Colonnade, Canary
Wharf, London E14 5HS.
