Queen's Award for Enterprise: International Trade
Westminster Group Plc (AIM: WSG), a leading supplier of managed services and technology-based security solutions worldwide, is delighted to announce that it has been awarded the Queen's Award for Enterprise in recognition of its outstanding contribution to International Trade.
Now in its 55th year, the Queen's Awards for Enterprise are the UK's most prestigious business awards to recognise and encourage achievements in the fields of Innovation, International Trade, Sustainable Development and Promoting Opportunity (through social mobility).
Westminster has been recognised for its excellence in International Trade for its outstanding growth in overseas sales and is one of just 205 organisations nationally for which Her Majesty The Queen has approved the Prime Minister's recommendation that Westminster be awarded the prestigious Queen's Award for Enterprise.
The Group is recognised globally for its specialist security and services expertise, operating worldwide via an extensive international network of agents and offices in over 50 countries. Over three years, Westminster's overseas sales have grown year on year by 96.4%, with overseas sales accounting for over 80% of total sales. Westminster supplied products and services to 66 countries in 2019 and 72 countries in 2020.
The award will be formally presented by the Lord Lieutenant for Northamptonshire on behalf of Her Majesty the Queen, at a ceremony at Westminster House on Friday, 30 July 2021.
Commenting on the award, Peter Fowler, Chief Executive of Westminster, said:
"I am proud of our achievements for 2020, particularly against a backdrop of the global pandemic, which is a testament to the hard work and dedication of all our staff and I am therefore delighted that our achievements have been recognised by this Queen's Award.
"The significance of this prestigious award is recognised worldwide and is an indication of the growth and momentum we have achieved with our world-wide business over the past few years.
"In November 2020 Westminster was recognised by the London Stock Exchange as one of the select 1000 Companies to Inspire Britain and to have now been selected for this distinguished award is an honour, not just for the Company but for all our employees around the world who have contributed to this success.
"Britain has always been at the forefront of innovation in security and defence solutions and this Queen's Award accolade further validates the position Westminster holds in that marketplace."
