Non Executive Director Change
Whitbread today announces that David Turner will be retiring from the Board as a
non-executive director on 2nd March 2006. David Turner, who is Chief Executive
Officer of Brambles Industries, which is listed in the UK and Australia, was
appointed to the Whitbread Board in January 2001. He was also the Chairman of
its Audit Committee from September 2002 to November 2005.
Anthony Habgood, Whitbread's Chairman said 'We will miss David's contribution to
the Board but fully understand that following Brambles decision that its primary
listing will be in Sydney his visits to the UK will be less frequent and he can
no longer devote the time he would wish to Whitbread.
I would like to thank David for the very significant contribution that he has
made to the Board discussions and for his chairmanship of the Audit Committee.
His wise advice has helped to guide the Board through a major period of change'.
