WHITBREAD APPOINTS NEW NON EXECUTIVE DIRECTOR
Whitbread PLC announces that it has appointed Phil Clarke as a Non Executive
Director. He will join the Whitbread Board on 1st January 2006 and will be a
member of its Remuneration Committee.
Phil Clarke (45) is a director of Tesco PLC with responsibility for its
operations in Central Europe and Asia. He is also responsible for IT across the
Tesco Group. In his 25 years of experience at Tesco he has held a number of
roles most recently as director of Distribution, Supply Chain and Logistics.
Anthony Habgood, Whitbread's Chairman said 'I am delighted that Phil will be
joining our Board. He has had a great range of experience at Tesco which will
be highly relevant to Whitbread.'
