Board Appointment

The Board of Witan Investment Trust is pleased to announce the appointment of Richard Oldfield as a non-executive director with effect from 1 May 2011.

Richard Oldfield is chief executive of Oldfield Partners, an investment management firm which he founded in 2005 after nine years as chief executive of a family investment office.  Before that he was a director of Mercury Asset Management plc which he joined in 1977.  He became chairman of the Oxford University investment committee and Oxford University Endowment Management Ltd in January 2007 and was chairman of Keystone Investment Trust plc from 2001 to 2010.  'Simple but not easy', his slightly autobiographical book about investing, was published in June 2007.  He is a trustee of Leeds Castle Foundation and of Canterbury Cathedral Trust.

There is no further information which is required to be disclosed pursuant to paragraph 9.6.13 R of the Listing Rules.
