                             Annual General Meeting


Witan Investment Trust plc hereby gives notification that at the Annual General
Meeting of the Company, held yesterday evening, all the resolutions, as set out
in full in the notice of meeting dated 29 January 2002, were duly passed. One of
the resolutions gave authority to the Company to make market purchases of up to
52,717,168 ordinary shares (being 14.99% of the ordinary shares in issue at 12
March 2002).


Lord Inchyra retired from the Board at the conclusion of the Annual General
Meeting on 12 March 2002.
