WIZZ AIR GROWS PASSENGER NUMBERS BY 25% TO 3.3M
LOAD FACTOR INCREASES BY 0.6PPTs TO 89.4%

Geneva, 6 January 2020: Wizz Air Holdings Plc ("Wizz Air"), the largest low-cost airline in Central and Eastern Europe, today announces passenger and CO2 emission statistics for December 2019.

 

In December 2019, Wizz Air continued to grow its network and improve its customer offering as follows:

 

·      Wizz Air announced that it has reached an agreement in principle for the establishment of Wizz Air Abu Dhabi in partnership with Abu Dhabi Developmental Holding Company PJSC (ADDH). Operations are expected to launch in the second half of 2020, with Wizz Air Abu Dhabi gaining access to markets with a total of 5 billion customers across Europe and beyond.

·      Wizz Air added two new stations to its network: Yerevan in Armenia with two new routes to Vienna and Vilnius, and Paris Orly, with two new routes to Budapest and Warsaw.

·      Route network expansion with the announcement of 6 routes: Austria (1x), Hungary (1x), Lithuania (1x), Poland (1x), Romania (2x).

·      Base expansion in Bucharest with the addition of one new Airbus A321 aircraft in July 2020 and two new routes to Prague and Seville.

·      Wizz Air continuously operates at the lowest CO2 emissions per passenger/km amongst all competitor airlines. At 59.5 grams, CO2 emissions in grams per passenger/km for the month of December were 2.0% lower than in the same month last year.
