                        APPOINTMENT OF COMPANY SECRETARY


John Wood Group PLC ('the Group') announces a change of Company Secretary.

Ian Johnson, the Group's new Head of Legal, will take on the role of Company
Secretary from Chris Watson, who will now focus on his role as Group Financial
Controller and Treasurer.

Ian joined Wood Group from DLA where he was the Partner with responsibility for
the international energy practice.  Ian's career has included 12 years as a
partner in highly regarded international law firms as well as 12 years as
in-house counsel, part of which was spent with Unocal in The Hague and London.
