OBTALA RESOURCES PLC ('Obtala' or the 'Company')

Appointment of Director

Obtala Resources Plc has appointed Simon Rollason (aged 42) BSc (Hons), FGS, MIMMM to the Board as a Managing Director with immediate effect.

Simon has over 18 years experience in mining and geological exploration having worked in Africa, Middle East, Central Asia and the Far East with both multi-nationals and junior resources companies. He has been involved with and managed operations which have varied from exploration, evaluation projects to successfully feasibility studies.

During this time he has gained experience working on nickel, gold, copper, base metals and gemstone projects, ranging from grassroots exploration through to producing assets. Over the past 10 years he has held senior positions with Saudi Arabian Mining Company and European Minerals Corporation where he was most recently the Chief Geologist at the Varvarinskoye Gold-Copper mine in Northern Kazakhstan which he managed from exploration to its successful production phase in 2007. 

Simon joined the management team of Obtala Resources plc in July 2008 and since been involved with coordinating in-country and corporate activities.
