WORKSPACE GROUP PLC ('Workspace')
The Workspace Board notes the announcement by Mentmore Abbey plc ('Mentmore
Abbey') regarding Mentmore Abbey's review of its options for its stake in
Workspace.
In the last two weeks and with Mentmore Abbey's knowledge, our brokers, WestLB
Panmure, arranged to place Mentmore Abbey's stake with a number of
institutional investors. However, Mentmore Abbey's price expectations do not
seem to accord with current market conditions.
Workspace continues to follow its consistent and successful strategy of
focusing on flexible affordable space for the SME sector, particularly in
London and the South East. Our prospects going forwards continue to be good,
as outlined in the results for our third quarter announced on 19 February,
2001.
